NAME: Larimer County Community Corrections
LOCATION: Fort Collins, CO
Overview
The project scope involved a three story addition to the existing Community Corrections Facility.
This facility is known most commonly as a "halfway house" or alternative sentencing unit.
Residents are typical of those nearing successful completion of their sentencing.
Case managers provide guidance and counseling to help transition residents back
into the workforce and a responsible way of life.
The addition houses an additional 151 residents, provides separate entrances for population division,
and facilitates additional staff for the new residents. The size of the addition is 23,240 gross square feet.
Including the existing facility, the total size is 55,640 gross square feet, housing 327 residents.
A few responsibilities for this project included connecting the additional security and monitoring systems into the existing systems
without shutdown or loss of service. Second, was to engage in sustainable design
principles and follow the LEED rating system.
